Aspen Expeditions is Aspen’s premier
rock and mountain guiding service and has been teaching and
guiding rock and peaks in our valley since 1976. All mountain
guides are certified or trained by the American Mountain
Guides Association. We use our experience to allow you to
have a safe and enjoyable experience on the rocks and in
the mountains.
Experience the fun and excitement of rock climbing. No experience necessary! With an emphasis on safety and enjoyment our professional guides will take you on a fun and unforgettable experience! Meet your guide in the morning at our shop in downtown Aspen where we will supply you with all of the necessary equipment. The scenic 10-15 min drive up Independence Pass will get you within a short walk of a multitude of spectacular granite crags, hosting climbs for beginner to advanced rock climbers. Between climbs on the rock, spend time relaxing in the sun, eat lunch by a mountain stream, and enjoy the renowned beauty of Independence Pass.
Looking to add a little more excitement to your day? Our adventure climbing days will take you to new heights—literally. Our professional mountain guides will lead the way up some of Independence Pass’ most striking granite walls. Spend some time learning the basics of rock climbing including movement skills and rope work in preparation for an unforgettable multi-pitch climbing experience. With the expertise of a guide and the security of a rope, you will enjoy all the freedom and exhilaration that rock climbing has to offer. Once on top, you’ll enjoy an incredible view of the Elk Mountains surrounding Aspen, as well as an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
Join us on an adventure ropes course! With 6 or more people, let our certified guides set up an adventure ropes course for you. This would include zip-lines, slack-lines and Tyrolean traverses across the beautiful Roaring Fork River, "Ice Caves exploration, and other natural and roped obstacles. Great for families and children as well as corporate, school and church outings!
